Sun Shield Tee
- Usually ships in 1-2 business days.
UV BLOCKING - a UPF-50 rating that blocks 98% of the sun’s harmful UV rays. It is not a chemical treatment - it's a mechanical quality of the yarn so the protection won't diminish with washing. It's especially important for our pink-skinned friends!
REDUCE HEAT ABSORPTION - our darker colored pals really benefit from the heat-reflective shade these tees provide! We tested our black Lab, Luke, out in the sun with an infrared thermometer gun and found his fur was more than 40 degrees cooler under theTee than out!
EVAPORATIVE COOLING - Cool everybody down simply by getting the Tee wet! None of those heavy ice packs or gel inserts. Just comfortable lightweight easy moving tee that won’t get stinky (it’s antimicrobial).
SKIN CARE - Super comfortable indoors and out and perfect for skin conditions, wound care, topical medications and allergies!
CALMING - a close fitting Tee can really take the edge off for an anxious friend plus it’s comfortable enough to wear all day!
Sizing is the same as the Stretch Fleece and is designed to fit snug. Though the material is different, it will still stretch to fit like a glove!
Recommended For: Sun protection, regulating body temperature, indoor wear, outdoor wear, protecting skin conditions or wounds, mild anxiety, increasing cuteness
Wear Tip: The center chest seam is designed to be on the outside – we want pets to enjoy maximum comfort, especially in that tender area.
Harness Help: These close fitting pullovers are perfect worn under a harness, with no adjustment needed. No fussing with ill-placed harness openings in this snuggy wonder! Plus, wearing this under a harness has an added benefit of reducing or eliminating chaffing!
Washing Instructions: Machine wash cold or warm, tumble dry low or hang to dry.

Bought this for the same cat that I bought the fleece for. She is a Persian and has skin issues so we shaved her and I didn’t want her to be cold and with the sun shield it’s lighter and can be worn in summer. Love it. I have bought these for my dogs and love them!
Excellent product, love these t shirts! Our 6 lb minpin needs them to keep warm and it makes her easier to see so we don’t trip over her!
I have a mountain cur and she is very active and we do a lot o hiking. I need something orange when we go hiking during hunting season. This works perfect and is not heavy on her either. Wanted to buy another orange one, but there wasn't any left in her size (18). Thanks for this product, and also being made in the USA!
So far we have loved this shirt! Our blue doberman has very little hair on her back and she tends to get really itchy when hiking in full sun. It seems to irritate her skin to the point of shade hopping. We got her a size 24, she is about 172lbs and it fit her full length to cover her bum (which also gets sun irritation). I like how thin and stretchy the material is. It is easy to put on and fits her broad chest well. The material is also lightweight and compact enough if you end up having to carry it while hiking.
I have bought two now. I started with one for my Bernese to make our evening walks a bit cooler for her. That seemed to work well so I bought one for my lab too. My lab is a search and rescue dog who sometimes works from a boat, in full sun and it just bakes. I figured this was a great, lightweight, way to get her some protection from the sun. Both fit each dog well and give them some heat/sun respite. I usually wet them down as well.
These are wonderful! They hold up very well with my monsters and are great quality! Will purchase more amd often!
I've been using the fleece coats for my dogs in the winter for years. In Florida, it doesn't get too cold, so the fleece is plenty warm. I just bought 2 of the Sun Shield tees as this summer has been brutal. They are just as well made and easy to put on as the fleece tees. They are another hit for Gold Paws!
The sun shirt fits fine around his chest but the stretchy material rides up and gathers on my short-haired minpin and the bottom of the shirt dangles too much. I’m trying some other cooling options like bandanas and stiff cooling harnesses that stay in place instead. I’ll try the sun shirt out for anxiety next thunderstorm.
These are great shirts to help keep the sun off my dogs and keep them a little cooler. They work well in the water or on the hiking trail. I'm hoping to buy some more.
